AMFW The Daily

Access All Areas: The AMFW 2012 Daily

It's kind of an understatement to say that the ARISE Magazine Fashion Week (AMFW2012) is bigger and better this year. Not only is the event spread over double the number of days as the inaugural event in 2011, but there's also a 50 per cent increase in designers showing, as the number of collections nears the 80 mark. And there's a real feeling of this being a global representation of 'black' design talent: 45 per cent of participating designers are Africans in diaspora or from other countries.

With all this going on it’s a good thing that AMFW2012 also brings another first: it's own dedicated magazine. The AMFW daily magazine, the official reporting entity for the event, will be published over the six days in print and online formats. It will provide unrestricted access to the collections and the design minds behind them, as well as insights into regional fashion industries and new emerging talent to watch out for.

"We have an army of contributors and reviewers from the fashion industry, design industry at large and the media all coming together to give you a unique perspective into what’s going down during the Fashion week, “ says AMFW Daily magazine editor Fauzi Fahm. “The AMFW Daily will also be offering special giveaways to its readers and event attendees. Get a copy, figure out the answer and log in online to get access to a variety of prizes, from Givenchy clutches to spa days. Our goal is to foster debate about what’s shown and the African fashion industry at large, so through Twitter and Facebook platforms we’re really pushing for audience participation this year."
