AMFW 2012 was crowned by the ARISE Magazine Fashion Awards 2012 on Sunday night. The 10 winners were announced minutes after the final show by ARISE international managing director Penny McDonald. Supermodel Alek Wek presented each with a Lalique trophy and bottle of champagne.

It was an emotional moment for many of the recipients. Georgie Baddiel, who won Model of the Year, said “I dedicate this award to all of the models from Lagos. This is how I started. Believe.” Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi took her award for Style Icon of the Year, saying “Thank you Nigeria. Thank you Nduka. This is for black Africa.” Womenswear Designer of the Year, Tsemaye Binitie meanwhile could barely speak at all he was so choked up.

Here’s a full list of who the ARISE team deemed the crème de la crème of the week:

Designers of the Year: Maki Oh and KLûK CGDT

Style Icon of the Year: Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi

Male Model of the Year: Dudley O’Shaughnessy

Female Model of the Year: Georgie Baddiel

Menswear Designer of the Year: PETROU\MAN

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Tsemaye Binitie

Fashion Brand of the Year: Temple Muse

Innovative Designers of the Year: Odio Mimonet and David David

Emerging Designer of the Year: Loza Maléombho

Young Designer of the Year: LaQuan Smith

Lifetime Achievement Award: Ozwald Boateng

It was also announced who would be going to the ARISE New York Fashion Week show for spring/summer 2013 show this September. The luck five are:

Ozwald Boateng
