As part of the Southbank Centre´s festival Africa Utopia, ARISE is presenting a free salon on 21 July packed with fashion, debate, music, art and more.
ARISE And Shine promises to be one to remember with South African poet Lebo Mashile performing live, Nigerian soul singer Bez performing tracks from Super Sun and a host of other African talent, including fashion designer Tsemaye Binitie, Missla Libsekal of Another Africa and poet and playwright Inua Ellams.
ARISE Editor Helen Jennings says: "The ARISE salon will be a free, interactive event welcoming creatives from an array of disciplines to share their work and views with the audience. We have African art, theatre, fashion, poetry and music all in the mix with special performances by Bez and Lebo Mashile."
"It will also be the first opportunity ARISE has had to interact directly with our readers in London since our launch in 2008, so I can't wait."
ARISE and Shine takes place on 21 July from 3-4pm in The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall. southbankcentre.co.uk
